Terms of use

The rules for using The Dugout — accounts, fair play, intellectual property, and what happens when something goes wrong. Keep them handy; they govern your use of the service.

Last updated: 1 September 2026

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and The Dugout for access to our website and browser football management game. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use The Dugout.

1. The service

The Dugout is a browser-based football management game and related marketing site. Features may change as we ship updates. We may offer free access, optional paid features, or both; pricing and availability will be described where you purchase or subscribe. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability; maintenance and outages can happen.

2. Accounts and eligibility

You must provide accurate registration information and keep your credentials secure. You are responsible for activity under your account. You must be old enough to form a binding contract in your jurisdiction, or have a parent or guardian’s consent where required. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that we reasonably believe pose a security or abuse risk.

3. Acceptable use

Play fair. Do not attempt to cheat, exploit, reverse engineer, overload, or disrupt the service. Do not harass other players or our staff, scrape the service beyond ordinary use, or use The Dugout for unlawful purposes. Automated bots and scripts that interact with the game outside supported APIs are not allowed without our written permission.

  • No unauthorized access to other accounts or systems.
  • No distribution of malware or phishing through our channels.
  • No commercial resale of accounts, progress, or virtual items without our consent.

4. Intellectual property

The Dugout name, crest, software, art, text, and other materials are owned by us or our licensors. We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the service for entertainment as allowed by these Terms. You retain rights to feedback you send us; you grant us a licence to use that feedback to improve the product without obligation to you.

5. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The service is provided “as is” and “as available,” to the fullest extent permitted by law. We disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. To the extent allowed by law, our total liability for claims arising from these Terms or the service is limited to the greater of (a) the amounts you paid us in the twelve months before the claim or (b) a small fixed amount set by counsel in the final terms. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions; those limits apply only as far as the law allows.

6. Changes, termination, and contact

We may update these Terms by posting a revised version with a new “Last updated” date. Material changes will be highlighted where practical. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the revised Terms. You may stop using the service at any time. We may terminate or suspend access for breach or if we discontinue the product. Provisions that by nature should survive (IP, disclaimers, liability limits) will survive termination.
